Quick Exit

Last updated: August 7, 2026

Purple House Foundation (“Purple House Foundation,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving individuals and families in West Feliciana Parish, Louisiana. Many of the people who reach out to us are going through difficult and sensitive circumstances, and we take the privacy of your information seriously. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

If anything here is unclear, or you’d like us to explain how your information is handled, please contact us using the details at the bottom of this page.

Your safety comes first

If you are in immediate danger, call 911. For free, confidential support any time, call or text 988.

Because some of the people who visit this site may be in unsafe situations, please keep in mind:

  • Visiting this website, and filling out our forms, may leave a record in your browser history.
  • The Quick Exit button on our site will quickly send your browser to another website, but it cannot erase your history on its own.
  • To browse more privately, consider using a private or incognito window and clearing your browser history afterward. Safer still, use a device that the person you’re concerned about cannot access.
  • We cannot control or see the security of the device or network you use to reach us.

Information we collect

We only collect what we need to respond to you and to run our programs.

Information you give us directly. When you fill out our Find Support form or Contact form, or email us, we collect the information you choose to share — typically your name, your contact information (such as an email address), and the details of your message or request. You decide how much to tell us, and we encourage you to share only what you are comfortable sharing.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our site (hosted on WordPress.com) collects basic, non-identifying technical information through built-in WordPress.com and Jetpack statistics — such as the pages visited, general location (like country or region), the type of device or browser used, and the website that referred you. We use this only to understand how the site is used and to improve it. We do not use Google Analytics or other third-party advertising trackers.

Cookies. Our website may use small files called cookies to help the site function and to gather the basic statistics described above. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when a site uses them, though some parts of the site may not work as well if you do.

How we use your information

We use the information you provide to:

  • Respond to your message or support request;
  • Understand what you need and, where we can, connect you with resources, partner organizations, or practical assistance;
  • Communicate with you about your request, or about our programs, events, and volunteer or donation opportunities where appropriate;
  • Keep records necessary to operate as a nonprofit and to meet legal and reporting obligations;
  • Maintain and improve our website.

Contacting us does not guarantee that assistance is available.

When we share information — and when we don’t

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Ever.

We share information about you with partner organizations or outside resources only with your permission. If connecting you to a partner would mean sharing your details, we will ask you first. You are always free to contact a partner organization yourself instead.

We may share information without your specific permission only in limited situations:

  • With trusted service providers who help us operate our website and programs (for example, our website host, WordPress.com), who are permitted to use the information only to provide services to us;
  • When required by law — such as in response to a valid legal request — or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect someone’s safety or to comply with a legal obligation.

Within Purple House Foundation, your information is kept confidential and is accessed only by the staff and volunteers who need it in order to help you.

How we protect your information

We take reasonable measures to protect the information you share with us. That said, no website or method of electronic storage is ever completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please avoid including more sensitive detail than necessary in an online form or email.

How long we keep your information

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as required to meet our legal and nonprofit recordkeeping obligations, and then we dispose of it securely. If you would like us to delete information you have shared with us, contact us and we will do our best to honor your request, subject to any obligations we are required to meet.

Your choices and rights

You can:

  • Ask what information we have about you;
  • Ask us to correct or update it;
  • Ask us to delete it;
  • Opt out of any non-essential communications from us at any time.

To make any of these requests, contact us using the details below, and we will respond as promptly as we can.

Children’s privacy

Our website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will remove it.

Links to other websites

Our site, and the referrals we make, may point you to other organizations’ websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we encourage you to review the privacy policy of any website you visit.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review it periodically.
